Celebrity for Death

Humorist Art Buchwald died yesterday, almost a year after he was pronounced good as dead due to kidney failure and was sent to a hospice to die. Miraculously, while in hospice, his kidneys regained their strength and Buchwald was given a new lease on life. This came as somewhat of a shock to a man who had been preparing to die, and had to undergo a sort of culture shock being reintroduced to the land of the living. He went on to live at his family's home in Martha's Vineyard and even wrote a book during his stay.

He remained a lively character, full of mirth and mischeif until the end, perhaps best evidenced by his appearance on NYTIMES.com's new video obituary feature:
