The title of this painting is "They Dared to Dream", which basically means "if you dream someone will shoot you. Sleep tight, kids!"


It's 4am and I should be asleep, but I remembered having some odd dreams and I wanted to try to get them down before I forgot them.

One part of the dream involved me being on the field of a futuristic, video gamey Japanese baseball game. It's the kind of game where people shoot fireballs out of empty wrist sockets and other players catch the ball with inspector gadget arms. I think I either had to get the ball, or that I was in the way somehow and had to get off the field.

Another portion involved me and my friend Ben and his friend Chuck. We were in Chucks apartment looking something, something like a photo album and we needed a picture from it but chuck was taking too much time and then he heard his wife coming in and we all had to run and hide. I hid somewhere in the bathroom and at somepoint I saw Ben out the window. I tried to pry open the screen of the window gently, but I ended up breaking it. Chuck caught me and started crying and tearing the screen apart in anger at me.

And before all that, I remember being in a mall and there was a crazy beast that was jumping around the mall. I could see him from a second story balcony, and I remember calling him Rothgar, which I just looked up and comes from the King's name in Beowulf, who was named Hrothgar. I saw that movie months ago when it came out, so it's weird that it was stuck in my head. However, Hrothgar is one of those words that gets stuck in my head that I think of obsessively. Other words in this category include "heliotrope", "peristalsis", and "fecundity".
